The Beta Psi Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) foundation committed to promoting and enhancing educational opportunities for active brothers and pledges of the Beta Psi Chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
We promote, encourages and support educational activities for the Bill George Beta Psi Chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity by awarding both scholarships and student aid and developing future leaders. All contributions to the Beta Psi Foundation, including the Annual Fund, are tax-deductible and are managed by the Finance Committee of the Beta Psi Foundation and invested in accordance to the Committee’s investment policy statement.

Following the 1990’s capital campaign for the new Chapter House, many alumni expressed interest in forming a non-profit foundation to encourage future tax-deductible contributions. The Foundation arose from this effort and now supports the Chapter through disbursement of funds for educational purposes.
Since our formation in May 2004, we have successfully promoted, encouraged, and supported educational activities for the Chapter, both by hosting leadership development programs and by awarding scholarships and student aid.
Through the volunteer efforts of over fifty Directors and other alumni, we have raised over $2,500,000 from over four hundred donors. We have awarded more than 544 scholarships totaling more than $490,000, based on academic achievement, leadership, and financial need. We believe that the creation of a framework that rewards excellence and fosters competition for leadership positions results in a stronger undergraduate chapter and provides incentives that will benefit all the undergraduate brothers. In addition, the Foundation provides financial support for the Leadership for Life program. Created and operated by alumni brothers, Leadership for Life pairs small groups of undergraduates with alumni leaders who work with the undergraduates from their sophomore through senior years.
We also continue to work together with the international Sigma Chi Fraternity and its foundation to fulfill our distinct goals and missions. Through the years, we have co-hosted programs with International Sigma Chi, and we continue to work with the national foundation for the benefit of Beta Psi brothers.
There is a wide variety of ways that we can continue to fulfill our mission, and we look forward to your involvement with this effort as we continue to move forward.
The Rewarding Excellence Endowment was built off of a campaign that was started on 2004 for the sole purpose of ensuring that The Foundation would have sufficient funds to grant scholarships for years to come. As of 2024, the balance is approximately $1,600,000 and our current goal is to award $50,000 - $60,000 per year in scholarships to Beta Psi undergraduates.
We host an Awards Dinner every February, and this has become the signature event of the Beta Psi Foundation. The dinner showcases undergraduate Scholarship award recipients and serves as an opportunity for alumni Brothers to re-connect. We also use this opportunity to bestow an alumni service award on one of our alumni Brothers, and we have also recognized several Significant Sig and Seven Lights award recipients at this event.
Accomplished alumni Brothers and colleagues deliver keynote speeches, and we update our Brotherhood on the progress of the Foundation and our mission. All donors to the Foundation will receive invitations to the Awards Dinner, and we encourage all Beta Psi supporters to attend. The guest list also includes the parents of award recipients as well as representatives from the Sigma Chi Fraternity and Georgia Tech.
